A trailer for the new anime version based on Kentarou Miura’s long-running Berserk manga has been unveiled on the project’s official site to coincide with its debut at at NBC Universal’s booth at the winter Comic Market 89 in Tokyo. There’s still no confirmed release date, though it does pin it down to 2016, or even a format (TV? Film? Original video anime?).
The Berserk manga, first appeared in 1989 and was previously turned into an anime series in 1997. The new series will show protagonist Guts in his “Black Swordsman” appearance. Meanwhile, the manga will go on hiatus, with the next chapter arriving around the summer of 2016 after which it will appear in an “irregular” publishing schedule. [via Anime News Network)
