Marvel and Netflix have announced revealed that Carrie-Anne Moss will be reprising her role as ruthless lawyer Jeri Hogarth in Iron Fist. The character first on screen in Jessica Jones season one and made a brief cameo in Daredevil season two.
Marvel has released a teaser image (below) along with the announcement suggesting that Hogarth will be helping Danny in a legal struggle to take back control Rand Enterprises from the Meachums, who took over in his absence.
“Carrie-Anne has fast become a fan-favourite part of our street level saga,” says executive producer/head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “As Marvel fans know, Hogarth in the comics plays a critical role in the life of Danny Rand so it seems only fitting that Carrie-Anne join in.”
To clarify what Loeb’s referring to, in the comics Jeryn Hogarth (male) is a brilliant lawyer and businessman who worked for Rand-Meachum Inc and was a close friend to Wendell Rand, Danny’s dad. After Wendell’s death, Jeryn became the executor of his estate. When Danny returned from his extended absence, it was Hogarth who hired Private Investigators Misty Knight and Coleen Wing to look into whether he was really Danny Rand as he claimed.
“Danny Rand lives in the highest stratosphere of New York’s business society and he’s going to need a ruthless lawyer to help him navigate this alien world,” adds executive producer and showrunner, Scott Buck. “I’m very happy to have the opportunity to bring Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth into Marvel’s Iron Fist.”
Marvel’s Iron Fist follows Danny Rand (Finn Jones), who returns to New York City after being missing for years. He fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the legendary power of the fiery Iron Fist.
The show also stars Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, David Wenham as Harold Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum, and Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum.
