According to Daryl Dixon actor Norman Reedus, season seven of The Walking Dead will be opening up the post-zombie-apocalypse world of the show in a big way. And even if you’ve read the comics, you might not be quite ready for what’s coming.
“It’s a brand new world right now, man,” he tells Deadline in the midst of a interview about what he’s doing during his Walking Dead vacation – a show called Ride, where the actor motorbikes his way round the States like some 21st century Easy Rider. “We have big bad guy and that opens up our world quite a bit and changes everything. I mean, you see a shift of power completely on our show. And you see a lot of people who’ve gone through a whole lot, having to bite their tongue for a minute and deal with this new world and this new villain. If you know the comic books, it opens up even larger than that.”
Yeah, we reckon Rick’s tongue is going to be mighty sore from all that biting.
Meanwhile Reedus has also been telling Variety that he’s not just in support of the “If Daryl Dies We Riot” campaign on social media – he’ll be leading the riot if Daryl dies: “I will be passing out matches if that happens — I will be starting the riot. You know what, I’m very appreciative. I put a lot of work into this character for a long time, and I really like my job, and I like all the people I work with an awful lot, and I like all those fans that have my back, and I have their back, and I’m trying to do a good job for them as well. So it’s one big family that I’m proud to be part of.”
