New Helmet For Diggle In Arrow Season 5

Whether or not “it-was-part-of-the-plan-all-along” or a reaction to the general ridicule the blessed thing received during season four, Diggle’s metal bucket helmet is due for a makeover in season five of Arrow, actor David Ramsey has confirmed.

“Season five, you will see a Cisco-created new mask for Diggle,” Ramsey told audiences at last weekend’s Heroes And Villains Fan Fest. Cisco Ramone is the resident tech geek on The Flash who’s often lending a hand creating hardware for Team Arrow.

Diggle has, in fact been teasing the makeover since January when he said, “Central City will be working on an upgrade to Diggle’s helmet,” but despite the criticism from fans of the bucket helmet, the producers have taken their time instigating the change. Meanwhile, Ramsey has had to put up with looking a like a bargain basement Magneto.

Interestingly, Ramsey uses the word “mask” rather than “helmet” for his season five headwear but let’s not read too much into that; it’s probably a slip of the tongue. Or is it?

At the end of Arrow season four Diggle left Team Arrow to go back into the military but it seems he’ll be fighting back alongside Team Arrow before too long. [via ComicBookResources]
