There’s a very good chance we’ll be seeing John Barrowman’s Arrow character Malcolm Merlyn popping up across the whole range of CW DC superhero shows next season: The Flash, Legends Of Tomorrow and possibly even Supergirl.
The actor has signed a new contract with Warner Bros Television that’s similar to the one Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold) has signed, which means that the producers can use them for appearances across all the Arrowverse shows. This doesn’t mean he will appear in the shows, but it means that producers do not have to enter new negotiations if they do want to use him in shows other than Arrow.
The CW has already announced a major crossover event involving all four shows for next season, so you can’t help wondering if this new move is an indication that Malcolm will be heavily involved. It would certainly simplify contractual negotiations. Even if not, the production teams clearly do have big plans for Malcolm, otherwise… why bother with the new contract?
