Alcon Entertainment has announced that two more actors have joined the long-long-long-awaited Blade Runner sequel: Hiam Abbass (Munich, The Visitor) and David Dastmalchian (The Dark Knight, Ant-Man and soon to be seen in the Twin Peaks revival).
They join a cast that already includes Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Robin Wright, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Carla Juri, Dave Bautista and Barkhad Abdi. Denis Villeneuve (Sicario, Prisoners) is directing the film, which is set for an October 2017 release.
As with much else about the film, nothing is known about the characters Abbass and Dastmalchian will play. In fact, the only details about the storyline that have been confirmed are that it is set several decades after the 1982 original and will feature Ford reprising his iconic role as Blade Runner Rick Deckard.
