Paramount has confirmed a fourth Star Trek movie for the JJ Abrams-verse version of the franchise withy Chris Hemsworth returning George Kirk (from the first film) alongside Chris Pine and the current crew.
This means Paramount must be pretty confident that it has a hit on its hands with Star Trek Beyond, which isn’t even released yet – it’s out on Friday (but it has been getting very good reviews).
The core cast will be returning, although, he role of Chekov, as has already been announced, will not be recast following the tragic death of Anton Yelchin.
So, Kirk’s dad is back? Flashbacks? Or timey-wimey stuff? Intriguing.
