Captain America star Chris Evans is set to star in a new big screen adaptation of Jekyll, the 2007 BBC mini-series written by Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat.
The show was set in the present and featured James Nesbitt with some fantastically frizzy hair as Tom Jackman is the only living descendent of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde who has to try to incorporate his inherited dark side into his everyday life without letting Hyde know that he has a family. It was very, very twisty-turny as Jekyll has a battle of will with his own alternate persona. A secret organisation with its own interest in Hyde makes matters even more complicated.
According to Deadline, Lionsgate is prepping the film and in negotiations with Evans for the lead (or is that leads?). Ellen DeGeneres and Jeff Kleeman are producing and there’s a script by Anthony Bagarozzi & Charles Mondry (The Nice Guys, Doc Savage, Death Note).
