According to star Dennis Haysbert (24), the future in Syfy’s new series Incorporated is all too scarily real. The network has revealed a new trailer for the show, which is set in the near future when corporations hold all the power. To save the woman he loves, Ben Larson (Sean Teale) infiltrates the corporate world, where he finds himself crossing paths with Julia Ormond’s Elizabeth and Haysbert’s Julian, a security specialist-cum-inquisitor.
The show features a super-luxurious Green Zone for the 1%-ers and a super-poverty Red Zone for the not so fortunate – “all those things we’re headed to, in my estimation,” says Haysbert. “It reads very real for me… Even though it’s not quite there yet, a few misplaced politicians and some other crazy things happening in the world will put us there.”
Julia Ormand adds, “I wish that we all had more belief in our power that we each as individuals have, whether you’re a consumer or investor. Whoever you are, if we don’t make choices that have all of us work together, we’re heading towards dystopia if we do nothing. We don’t have to make any more bad choices; we just have to continue on the path that we’re on.”
Recently added to the cast is Denyse Tontz, who will play Elena, the love of Ben’s life, who is forced to sell herself into servitude to pay off her family’s debts.
The 13-episode season starts on Syfy in the US on 30 November. Ted Humphrey (The Good Wife) is showrunner.
