Patrick Stewart reckons that his next appearance as Professor X in upcoming Wolverine film will be his final appearance in the X-Men film franchise. And he also promises that this will be Professor X as you’ve never seen him before.
Speaking to ITV News, he says, “I would imagine this is probably the end of this franchise for me. But the thing about science fiction and fantasy is that you can never, ever say it’s the end, it’s over.”
He adds that this will be “a very different Charles Xavier… nothing like the Charles Xavier you’ve seen in the past.”
The rumour is that the film will be set in a future where supervillains are in control of the world featuring an older, grizzlier Wolverine (and presumably a very old Professor X).
The next Wolverine film will also mark the final appearance of Hugh Jackman as the Canadian superhero. It will be Stewarts seventh appearance in an X-Men film.
