After two full days in circulation (Friday and Saturday) online views for Gareth Edwards-directed prequel were at 34.2 million, 14 millions-plus coming from the Star Wars YouTube channel, and another 16 million from Facebook (they don’t specify where the other 4.2 million come from… the Dark Side of the ’Net maybe?).
As such, Rogue One is doing better than the top Super Bowl trailers from February this year, including ones for Captain America: Civil War, Jason Bourne, X-Men: Apocalypse, Deadpool and The Jungle Book.
It was achieving a rate of one million views per hour in its first 24 hours online, which is equal to what Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer was clocking up following its debut during Monday Night Football in October last year.
RelishMIX also states a ratio of 25:1 for the Rogue One trailer. We’ve done some Googling and drawn a blank on what the hell that might mean but apparently 25:1 is really good, because the average movie trailer gets a ratio of 10:1. So HURRAH! All good then.
