Directors Joe and Anthony Russo have hinted pretty heavily in the past that Avengers: Infinity War would feature the Guardians Of The Galaxy, but confirmation has now come from an unlikely source. Actually, no, it’s not an unlikely source. It comes from Vin Diesel, voice of Groot and a man with some kind of social media spoiler Tourette’s.
Vin Diesel went on Facebook Live to reveal, “The Guardians will be included in Avengers: Infinity War and that’s incredibly exciting.”
In related news, speaking to CinemaBlend the Russos have now confirmed that their second Avengers film will not even have Infinity War in the title, teasing some exciting reasons why not.
Originally, Marvel announced that the Russos would be directing Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Avengers: Infinity War Part 2. Later it was revealed the second film would not be called Part 2. That still left the door open for the second film to be called something like Avengers: The End Of Infinity War. But then the official Marvel listings began referring to the film as “Untitled Avengers”.
Now Joe Russo says that the film will have an all-new subtitle: “We wanted the movie to be very different and distinctive, you know? There’s certainly cross-pollination between characters and some story-arcs, but you know, the first movie is very clearly Avengers: Infinity War and, in time, we will reveal what the second film is… You’ll learn [it], but not for quite some time.”
