The title may not be the most inspiring of the year, but new Hulu comedy Future Man has some pretty inspiring talent behind it.
Hulu has given the green light to the 13-episode series which will star Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games, above) as an downbeat and dejected janitor by day/gamer by night who becomes Earth’s unlikely hero when he is recruited by mysterious visitors to travel through time in order to prevent the extinction of humanity. So, a timey-wimey spin on The Last Starfighter, then?
The series has been created by the unlikely combination of the guys behind Sausage Party, Ariel Shaffir and Kyle Hunter, and creator of E4’s Misfits, Howard Overman. Executive producers are Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg – who, as with their hit Preacher for AMC will also direct – and Matt Tolmach (The Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man: Homecoming).
