Suddenly, during the US broadcast of the Mr Robot season finale last night, viewers were given an unexpected treat – a series of teaser trailers for Paramount’s upcoming live-action remake of renowned manga and anime Ghost In The Shell. Let’s just hope it wasn’t another just another Mr Robot-style meta-gag, and this remake is just a figment of Elliot’s imagination. Although some fans of the original – especially those crying, “Whitewashing!” at the screen every time Scarlett Johansson appears as Major Kusanagi – might be happy if it were.
Ghost In The Shell is directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) and is set to be released in the UK on 31 March 2017.
