How to start a rumour, lesson one: share an enigmatic image on the internet relating to a project people know you’re working on. Like, say, if you’re the director/co-scripter of the upcoming movie version of The Flash, and you Tweet an image of your latest script revision* also showing the feet of twoDC character Funko toys, one of which is The Flash (fair enough) and the other is… Cyborg! Which is exactly what RickFamuyiwa has done, the big tease. (*And if the previous version of the script is by Seth Grahame-Smith it’s seriously going to need revising.)

Of course, we may be reading too much into the image. It may even be a deliberate misdirect. But so far the DC movie universe seems to be a web of crossovers, so Cyborg turning up in the Flash’s movie is a distinct possibility, especially as Cyborg doesn’t have his own scheduled solo movie (shame – in this new Hollywood age of diversity cyborgs need representation!).
The Flash movie is due out in 2018.
