Person Of Interest actor Winston Duke (he played Dominic, the leader of the black Brotherhood gang) has been cast as as the villainous M’Baku, aka Man-Ape, in Marvel’s Black Panther movie, reports Variety.
First appearing in the comics in Avengers #62 (1969), Man-Ape was a Black Panther villain with mystical powers who tried to usurp the Wakandan throne. He gained superpowers after bathing in the blood of a rare white gorilla (so we bet he’s not on the WWF’s Christmas card list).
Chadwick Boseman will star as T’Challa/Black Panther in the February 2018 release, alongside Michael B Jordan (Creed) as Erik Killmonger, Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years A Slave, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as Nakia (n agent of Killmonger’s) and Danai Gurira (The Walking Dead) as Okoye (a member of the Dora Milaje, the wives-in-training for the King of Wakanda). It is being directed by Creed helmer Ryan Coogler.
