Wallace & Gromit and Shaun The Sheep creator Nick Park is going prehistoric for his next stop-motion animated film for Aardman, Early Man, and even though it’s not due to hit cinemas until 2018, here’s your first glimpse of the main characters, Dug (to be voiced byEddie Redmayne) and hairy sidekick Hognob, in action.
Set in prehistoric times, Early Man follows plucky caveman Dug as he prepares his tribe to play history’s first-ever game of soccer. It marks Park’s first feature since 2005’s Academy Award-winning Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. And, as everybody knows, archaeologists are all wrong and film-makers are all right, and man and T-Rex did co-exist on the planet at the same time. (If alternate history is good enough for The Man In The High Castle it’s good enough for Aardman.)
