God Particle, directed by Julius Onah (The Girl Is In Trouble) and starring David Oyelowo, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ziyi Zhang, Elizabeth Debicki, Daniel Bruhl, and Chris O’Dowd, is about a team of astronauts who make a “shocking discovery” and end up fighting for survival in what in an alternate reality.
According to the insider, God Particle, which is due for release early next year, will be revealed to have a connection to the Cloverfield. Not only that, but Abrams is planning further Cloverfield movies hopefully at a rate of one a year.
At the time of 10 Cloverfield Lane’s release, that film’s director, Dan Trachtenberg, suggested in interviews that the first two Cloverfield movies might not necessarily take place in the same universe, but rather Cloverfield was a jumping off point to inspire creative ideas. So is Abrams creating a shared cinematic universe, or is Cloverfield merely a framing device to link an anthology of films?
