Great news for all fans of Lucifer, the Tom Ellis-starring TV show in which the devil becomes a crimebusting night club owner in LA with a shrink (and it’s as gloriously silly as that makes it sound). FOX has ordered additional episodes for season two, taking its run to a full 22 episodes.
“Lucifer continues to deliver, with great blasts of dark humour and ambitious storytelling,” says FOX boss David Madden. “The show has turned out to be a true wicked pleasure, the perfect companion to Gotham, and we couldn’t be more pleased to order these nine additional episodes. We’d like to thank Tom, Lauren and the entire cast, who have imbued these characters with charm, humour and a great deal of humanity. Our thanks also go out to the production crew – Jerry, Len, Jonathan, Joe and Ildy – who, week-in and week-out, deliver a stellar show. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the season.”
In the States, Lucifer has been amassing a composite weekly audience of eight million, which is very healthy in this day and age of viewing.
