Game Of Thrones star Emilia Clarke (she plays Mother Of Dragons Daenerys Targaryen, just in case you didn’t know) has joined of the second A Star Wars Story film – the one that will tell an untold tale of the young Han Solo with Alden Ehrenreich in the lead role.
The cast also includes Community and Atlanta star Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian. It is not known yet who Clarke will be playing. We suspect not Chewbacca.
“Emilia Clarke is heading to a galaxy far, far away – and she’s going to meet Han and Chewie,” reads the official announcement, because any announcement about Star Wars must contain the phrase, “a galaxy far, far away”. “Clarke, known for her stirring portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen in Game Of Thrones, will join the upcoming untitled Han Solo Star Wars movie. Clarke’s role will round out a dynamic cast of characters that Han and Chewie will encounter on their adventures.”
The, film, with a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Jon Kasdan and directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (The Lego Movie), will focus on how Solo became got into the smuggling business. It is set for a UK release on 25 May 2018 release.
