Here we go with our usual Monday morning Westworld warning (a phrase with a lovely rhythmic metre to it – maybe we should write a song about it?): this is a trailer for NEXT WEEK’s UK episode not the one that will be shown on Sky1 tomorrow, so it’s up to you whether you want to proceed or not. We can tell you that it looks pretty epic.
The episode is called “The Bicameral Mind” and once again we find ourselves Googling so we can explain its meaning. Bicameral is an adjective originally attributed to legislative bodies, indicating that they had two chambers, such as our UK government. In psychology, the term Bicameralism – or “The Bicameral Mind” – was a hypothesis coined in the mid ’70s by Julian Jaynes, which suggests that at one stage in human evolution the human mind existed in a state where one part of the brain “spoke” while the second part “listened and obeyed”. So now you know.
