“You look at Star Wars, and classically each planet is its own ecosystem,” director Gareth Edwards says. “Tatooine was a desert planet, Hoth is a ice planet, but there’s never really been a paradise planet.”
Well, war comes to paradise in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but from the looks of this featurette the cast and crew were still in paradise having a whale of a time filming in the Maldives. Nice job if you can get it.
In the film the planet houses a major military installation that serves as the principal construction facility for the Empire’s war machine.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is released in the UK on 16 December.
