Is there a drinking game involving every time you see a shot of a foot pushing the pedal to the metal in a Fast & Furious film? Hopefully not, because even if you only played it during this trailer you’d be in danger of alcoholic poisoning. Here’s the new trailer for The Fate Of The Furious, and you have to congratulate the producers for resisting the temptation to call if The F8 Of The Furious, considering it’s the eighth film in the series.
Notably absent from the trailer is Helen Mirren, who’s a bit of a speed freak and told Elle magazine earlier this year, “I’ve always rather loved driving. I said, ‘I’ll be in Fast 8, but only if I’m allowed to drive if I do drive in it.’ But we’ll see. We’ll see how it transpires.” Maybe the producers want to keep to the nature of her role a secret for now. It’s certainly a wonderfully unexpected piece of casting.
We do get our first looks at new characters played by Charlize Theron and Kurt Russell, though. There’s also a nice little nod to Paul Walker.
