Okay, you may have heard the news already that former Doctor Who David Tennant is voicing Scrooge McDuck in Disney’s remake of the animated series DuckTales. You remember, the late ’80s series spotlighting the adventures Donald Duck’s three nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie. To be honest, we were just as excited to hear that another cult icon – Community’s Danny Pudi – was playing Huey.
But here’s something a little extra to go along with that announcement: the new cast singing the theme tune to the classic TV DuckTales. The voice cast also includes Ben Schwartz as Dewey and Bobby Moynihan as Louie, Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuack, Toks Olagundoye as Mrs Beakley and Kate Micucci as Webby Vanderquack.
Other beloved characters set to appear include Donald Duck, Flintheart Glomgold, Gyro Gearloose, Duckworth, Gizmoduck, Magica De Spell, Gladstone Gander, Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys.
The original DuckTales ran from 1987-1990 and even spawned a film, DuckTales the Movie: Treasure Of The Lost Lamp.
Matt Youngberg (Ben 10: Omniverse) will executive produce the new series, with Francisco Angones (Wander Over Yonder) as story editor and co-producer. Gravity Falls’ Sean Jimenez is the art director.
