To accompany the announcement that Mass Effect: Andromeda will be released in North America on 21 March and in Europe on 23 March, BioWare has released new gameplay footage during the NVIDIA keynote at CES.
“Mass Effect: Andromeda is our most ambitious Mass Effect game to date,” Aaryn Flynn, General Manager of BioWare writes on the game’s site. “We’re telling completely new stories, creating new characters, new planets, new species, and introducing new gameplay systems. And for the first time, we’re bringing Mass Effect to the Frostbite game engine, an incredible engine that’s delivering a tremendous graphical jump from the trilogy to Mass Effect: Andromeda. To deliver on this, we’re taking all the time we can to make sure you’re getting the best possible experience.”
In the game, players will choose between playing as one of two characters: Scott or Sarah Ryder, twin characters whose father was an N7 just like Commander Shepard in the previous games. Mass Effect: Andromeda takes players to the Andromeda galaxy, far beyond the Milky Way. There, players will lead our fight for a new home in hostile territory as the Pathfinder – a leader of military-trained explorers. This is the story of humanity’s next chapter, and player choices throughout the game will ultimately determine our survival.
