So, it looks like parts of Logan will be in black and white after all, then. When, during production, director James Mangold kept sharing stylish monochrome on-set images it lead to speculation that the whole movie might be in black and white – a kind of Berserker Raging Bull. Then the trailer came out and dashed those hopes (while still looking amazing).
But here we have a clip that is in good old black and white, and seriously cool it looks too – presumably it’s a flashback. So, is Logan going to be the nearest thing we’ve had to arthouse superhero movie since Unbreakable? Probably not, but it certainly looks grittier and more earthy than the majority of superheroes we get these days, and we’re all for variety here at BUZZ.
Directed by James Mangold (Walk the Line, The Wolverine), Logan, allegedly the final time Hugh Jackman will play the title character and the final time Patrick Stewart will play Professor Charles Xavier, will be released in the UK on 1 March.
