Somewhere an orange president is chanting, “Fake news! Fake news!” like it’s an incantation that can change reality itself. But it looks like season seven of American Horror Story will be the most controversial yet, and not for any excessive gore or sexual content, surprisingly.
Creator and producer Ryan Murphy reveals in an interview with Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen (no, we haven’t a clue what that is, either) that season seven of the show will be based on the 2016 election cycle.
“Well, I don’t have a title, but the season we begin shooting in June is going to be about the election that we just went through,” he confirms. “So, I think that will be interesting for a lot of people.”
Cohen asked if Trump would be in it,” Murphy responds, “Uh, maybe.”
American Horror Story has been renewed for three more seasons (up to nine). It’s still not clear if the “crossover” season Murphy mentioned a while back (see here) will be season eight or nine or something extra.
