Newt Geiszler and Hermann Gottlieb will return. Who? The names may only ring slight bells in the nether regions of your brain, but you’ll know exactly who we mean when we say: the comedy scientist duo from Pacific Rim played by Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Burn Gorman (Torchwood). At which point you’ll either be delighted (because “they were funny!”) or depressed (because “they were irritating!”) because comedy geeks are always divisive. (Here at BUZZ we thought they were quite amusing.)
Day confirmed that Geiszler and Gottlieb will be in Pacific Rim: Uprising while promoting his latest film Fist Fight (via ComicBook.com) saying that the pair were “tethering things to the world of the first movie.” He also revealed that Geiszler has a new wardrobe and that he “looks really good”.
Pacific Rim: Uprising is bing directed by Steven DeKnight, the man behind season one of Daredevil on Netflix and the various Spartacus series. It is scheduled for a UK release on 23 February 2018.
