The queen of the Inhumans has been cast. Yesterday we learned that Anson Mount was playing the ultimate embodiment of “silent but voilent” in the form of Inhuman king Black Bolt on ABC’s upcoming Marvel’s Inhumans TV series, and now we know who’ll be playing his consort – Medusa, the “hair” to the throne (see what we did there?).
Graceland and Chicago Fire star Serinda Swan has won the role of the Inhuman matriarch with prehensile hair (which should look amazing in CGI – unless they have to save on budget it should be moving and writhing the whole time like keratin tentacles).
“Serinda empowers Medusa’s regal glory and still maintains a relatability that synced perfectly with the character,” says Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb says. “She is nothing short of wonderful.”
Showrunner Scott Buck adds: “Serinda Swan brings a regal elegance, as well as a sense of great inner strength and fierce determination, to the role of Medusa. I couldn’t be happier to have her as our Queen of Attilan.”
