Season three of Mr Robot may be airing later than usual (it premieres in October this year rather than the summer) but information about the next set of episodes is trickling through.
The most interesting of which is that Bobby Cannavale (Boardwalk Empire, Vinyl, Ant-Man) has been cast as a series regular – a “laconic, no-nonsense used car salesman,” called Irving. Now, a used car salesman doesn’t sound quite like the kind of character you expect to crop up on a regular basis in the hacking-conspiracy world of Mr Robot so we suspect there might be a little bit more to him than that.
Meanwhile, previously recurring guest star BD Wong will now be a regular as well, playing the gender-jumping Whiterose, the leader of the Dark Army.
“Season three of Mr Robot will engage viewers in a whole new way, with [creator] Sam Esmail and team continuing to find ways to surprise, challenge and delight the audience. And adding Bobby Cannavale and BD Wong to our cast makes one of the tightest acting ensembles even stronger,” says Jeff Wachtel, Chief Content Officer, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment in the same statement.
