New Line has released the trailer for the first part of its two-part adaptation of Stephen King’s classic horror novel, It, which is due for release in the UK on 8 September. The start of the trailer is a near note-perfect recreation of the novel’s opening scene, and we think that this movie is going to do for yellow rain macs what Don’t Look Now! did for red parkas.
The first film will concentrate on the Losers Club in the younger days as kids. In the novel these sections were set in the ’60s, but the film has moved them to the ’80s, so the second film can have a similar time shift and be set in the present, with the adult versions of the characters. The Losers Club must face evil in the form of Pennywise the Clown… or is that guise just a front for a more ancient and horrifying evil?
It stars Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise, Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer and Nicholas Hamilton.
