If this comes off, which seems likely, it’s one of the exact pieces of good news the DCEU desperately needs. Whedon’s work has massive cache in geek circles and the immense success of Avengers Assemble and Age Of Ultron speaks to his ability to deliver big scale movies that find a home with bigger audiences. Even better, Whedon’s other work has shown how good he is with character-focused stories. Plus, given the Buffy 20th Anniversary is this year, it seems eminently appropriate for him to take on Gotham’s premier two-fisted heroine’s journey to the big screen.
Just give her the yellow doc martens, Joss. Please. You know it makes sense.
