We freely admit that King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword hasn’t entirely been welcomed with open arms by many. ‘Cheeky Nandos Excalibur’, ‘King Arthur: The Epic Bants Years’ and ‘Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Broadswords’ are all ways the movie’s been described to us. They’re also all pretty accurate. But nonetheless take a look at this, courtesy of Deadline.
That looks FUN! Guy Ritchie appears to have rediscovered his love for Sam Raimi-style gonzo camera work, the cast all look great, the action is pleasingly Last Airbender-y as well as nicely burly and ENORMOUS ELEPHANTS. Not to mention Led Zeppelin and Charlie Hunnam actually getting to use his natural accent for once, bless him. So, while this may be The Lad King more than The Boy King, we’re still well and truly there for it.
King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword is out 12 May in the US and 19 May in the UK. Thanks to Ellie at thinkjam for helping us out with that.
