The popular roleplaying game Pathfinder is to be reimagined as a mobile card game. Pathfinder Duels will be the first digital collectible card game (CCG) based on the Pathfinder universe.
“I was intimately involved with the creation of Magic: The Gathering in 1992, so when 37Games and DragonClaw Studio approached me, my mind immediately started to dream up what cards might go into my Amiri deck!” said Paizo CEO Lisa Stevens.
“Thanks to the simultaneous turn mechanism, Pathfinder Duels is more than just a strategy game. It is a game of speed and wits,” says Allen Guang, project director at 37Games.
“One must always be guessing the opponent’s next move, and coming up with new, unique strategies to prevail. We guarantee you haven’t seen this in any other CCG.”
Pathfinder Duels is currently in development and is expected to be released in September 2017.
