Sebastian, the haunted protagonist of The Evil Within 2, will not only have to contend with some gruesome and grisly monsters in appearance alone but also those whose ugliness hides beneath the surface. That’s clearly shown in the game’s latest trailer, which introduces the twisted and deadly photographer, Stefano Valentini.
With more than just a passing similarity to Bioshock‘s infamous Sander Cohen, Valentini delights in capturing his subjects at the precise moment of their deaths and seems to have taken it upon himself to orchestrate situations where he is in prime position to take the perfect snap.
Basically, he murders people and then takes their picture, like he’s trying to be some overtly creepy video game antagonist.
Turns out the real world didn’t exactly appreciate his ‘talents’, so he’s fled to the game’s STEM world where he can perfect all of his creations. Also, Sebastian’s daughter, Lily, is vital to unlocking his further potential.
That’s probably not going to go down too well with him, so prepare for the two to clash when The Evil Within 2 is released on October 13 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
