Warner Bros Japan have uploaded a teaser trailer for the live-action adaptation of Mao Nanami’s Real Girl.
The manga has been published in English by Kodansha Comics and follows Hikari Tsutsui, aka “Tsuttsun”, a high school student content with anime and video games. One day, he gets stuck cleaning the pool with Iroha Igarashi, a girl who is stylish, sassy and known to be easy with boys. After helping Iroha fend off an aggressive student, his whole world is turned upside down when she asks him if he will go out with her.
The film stars Hayato Sano as Hikari and Ayami Nakajo as Iroha.
An anime series based on the manga is also set to air in Japan this April, produced by Hoods Entertainment.
Real Girl is directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa (of The Handsome Suit and Sadako 3D) and opens in Japan on 14 September 2018.
