Nintendo has announced a huge batch of terrific indie games scheduled for release on the Switch over the next 12 months. You can check out the Nindies Showcase video below for all of yesterday’s announcements or read on below for a summary of our favourites:
First up is Mark of the Ninja: Remastered. Klei’s excellent stealth-platformer released all the way back in 2012 for Xbox 360 and PC, and will now be making its way to the Switch in Autumn 2018.
Meanwhile, Tiny Build announced Garage, a violent top-down shooter that takes inspiration from gory zombie flicks of the VHS era. It’ll come to the Switch later this Spring.
If you missed it on mobile, you’ll now be able to play both versions of stressful kingdom manager Reigns when it comes to Switch later this Spring. Reigns: Kings and Queens will combine both the original release and the Her Majesty follow-up in a single swipe-filled package, as you make choices to maintain balance in your realm and last for as long as you can on the throne.
The last major announcement during the broadcast was confirmation that The Banner Saga 3 will be released for Nintendo Switch this Summer. The third entry in the Norse-themed tactical RPG will bring the trilogy to its conclusion, as all the choices you’ve made and actions you’ve taken are all wrapped up. Good news if you haven’t played the first two instalments too: they’ll both be released on the Switch “soon”.
Finally, we also got a couple of announcements outside the broadcast. The first was for gorgeous minimalist action-adventure Hyper Light Drifter and the second for barmy multiplayer fighter Nidhogg 2. Both will be released on the Switch later this year.
With releases such as these, Nintendo’s latest console keeps going from strength to strength.
