Layton’s Mystery Detective Agency: Katrielle’s Mystery Files is set to be broadcast this April, and a second trailer for the show has been released.

Based on the spin-off game, Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy, it turns out that Professor Layton is missing. His daughter Katrielle is in London looking for her missing father (who is also featured in the trailer), but finds herself running the Layton Detective Agency, solving mysteries along with her assistant Noah and her dog Sherl.

The trailer features the opening theme song Change, sung by Kana Adachi. The official website for the anime also mentions that the track will be released as Adachi’s fourth single on 30 May.

From animation studio LIDENFILMS, the series is directed by Susumu Mitsunaka (writer and director of Haikyuu!!). Katrielle will be voiced by Kana Hanazawa. Joining her will be Jurota Kosugi voicing Sherl, Kyosuke Ikeda voicing Noah (aka Ernest) and Yohei Tadano voicing Darjeeling Aspoirot (aka Ercule Hastings).

Layton’s Mystery Detective Agency: Katrielle’s Mystery Files will air in Japan on Fuji TV from 8 April 2018.
