Black Panther star Letitia Wright, whose scene-stealing turn as T’Challa’s tech-savvy sister Shuri was a highlight of the Marvel superhero movie, has just been announced as a special guest at this weekend’s MCM London Comic Con. Attending Friday and Saturday, her appearance will include a Main Stage panel at 12:30pm on the Friday of the show.
Rising star Wright’s Shuri is more than just a princess of the reclusive kingdom of Wakanda and ‘What are those?’ meme queen – she’s also a teen genius who heads up its cutting-edge R&D department. One of the smartest people in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, wisecracking Shuri uses her awesome inventions to help big bro T’Challa protect Wakanda as the Black Panther.
The British actor recently returned as Shuri in global blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War, while 2018 has also seen her cameo in Steven Spielberg sci-fi adventure Ready Player One. Prior to her Hollywood breakout, Wright was already on UK fans’ radars for her roles in small screen dramas such as Black Mirror, Top Boy, Humans and Doctor Who.
MCM London returns to ExCel London on 25-27 May. Tickets to the show are available here.
