Animation studio Madhouse gives us a better look at upcoming movie Okko’s Inn in a new trailer, released today alongside the film’s official poster. Opening in Japanese theatres in September, Okko’s Inn follows young girl Oriko ‘Okko’ Seki’s adventures at her granny’s haunted inn, whose supernatural inhabitants include ghost boy Uri-Bo.
Based on Hiroko Reijo’s The Young Innkeeper Is a Grade Schooler! novels, which Madhouse also recently adapted into a TV anime, Okko’s Inn stars 13-year-old Seiran Kobayashi as Okko and Satsumi Matsu (The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, Saki: The Nationals) as Uri-Bo, while Nana Mizuki (Naruto: Shippuden, Persona 5) voices Okko’s rival Matsuki Akino.
The film, which screened at last month’s Annecy Festival in France, is directed by Kitaro Kosaka (Nasu: Summer in Andalusia) and is penned by K-On!, Girls und Panzer and Violet Evergarden script supervisor Reiko Yoshida.
