MCM will be playing host to a pair of special guests from two very different fantasy shows at its Birmingham show later this month – Chai Hansen from fan fave Shadowhunters and Roger Ashton-Griffiths from HBO hit Game of Thrones.
Chai Hansen plays Aussie werewolf Jordan Kyle – Simon’s new roommate and Maia’s ex-boyfriend – in Season 3 of supernatural drama Shadowhunters, which adapts Cassandra Clare’s popular fantasy novel series The Mortal Instruments. Hansen also appears as Ilian in post-apocalypse show The 100 and Monkey in The New Legends of Monkey.
Shadowhunters returns in February for its final season, concluding with a special two-part finale. However, the show’s unexpected cancellation earlier this year has sparked a massive #SaveShadowhunters campaign by fans, whose efforts include ads on the sides of London buses, aeroplane banners over LA and billboards in Seoul, Toronto and New York.
Meanwhile, English actor Roger Ashton-Griffiths (Christopher Robin, The Death of Stalin) plays Mace Tyrell, Lord of Highgarden and Warden of the South. The father of the ambitious Margaery, the amiable but bumbling Mace heads one of the richest and most powerful families in Westeros – although he himself is firmly under the thumb of his mother Olenna. As with most Game of Thrones characters, things do not end well for ol’ Mace…
MCM Birmingham returns on 24-25 November 2018. Tickets to the show are available here.
