Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma has apparently hinted that a port of the maligned Wii entry Skyward Sword could be coming to the Nintendo Switch.
A number of attendees at a concert of The Legend of Zelda music in Japan have all said that Aonuma came on stage to tease the game. He said: “We know what you are thinking, Skyward Sword on Switch, right?” Destructoid picked up the Tweets from a user named Zalman.
If true, it’ll be interesting to see how Skyward Sword fares on the Switch. The game certainly had its problems, with a limited number of dull locations you were forced to revisit and a sometimes infuriating reliance on motion controls.
It really wasn’t quite as horrifically bad as a lot of the naysayers make it out to be, though. In fact, some of the latter game’s dungeon design stands up there with the best in the series, especially in the Lanayru Desert.
Whether there’s any truth to Aonuma’s hints we’ll have to wait and see. However, it seems likely it could be happening, what with Nintendo’s recent approach to bringing many games from its older systems to the Switch.
