Story details for Disney’s 58th animated film, Frozen II, have been kept largely on ice and the teaser makes sure not to give away any big reveals. But it appears that Anna and Elsa are venturing out of Arendelle.
The teaser is largely dialogue-free (there is only one word spoken) and opens with Queen Elsa (Idina Menzel) using her powers in an effort to run across the sea. Either she’s testing her powers or she’s trying to reach a particular destination. There’s also a montage of footage featuring Anna (Kristen Bell) travelling, Olaf (Josh Gad) being rescued by Elsa, and Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) leading a herd of reindeer.
Frozen holds the distinction of being the highest grossing animated film of all time, having grossed $1.27 billion worldwide. The sequel was announced in March 2015. Since then two shorts have been released, Frozen Fever and Olaf’s Frozen Adventure; as well as a Broadway musical.
The sequel sees the return of directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck and songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Also joining the cast are Sterling K. Brown and Evan Rachel Wood.
Frozen II opens in the UK and US on 22 November 2019.
