Budding Boba Fetts and Han Solos will want to keep their roguish eye on Star Wars: Outer Rim, the latest board game to be announced by US publisher Fantasy Flight Games. Set for a Q2 2019 release, the title will see one to four players seeking fame and fortune as bounty hunters, mercenaries and smugglers on the dangerous fringes of the Star Wars galaxy.
Player will take on the role of one of Star Wars’ iconic scoundrels, choosing from an eight character roster that includes Han Solo, Boba Fett, Lando Calrissian, Jyn Erso and Doctor Aphra from Kieron Gillen’s comic series. Each character will have their own skills and personal goals, but all players are all racing towards the same overall objective – to gain 10 fame points and become the most infamous outlaw in the galaxy.
To become a living legend in the dive bars and pirate ports of the Star Wars underworld, players will need to take on dangerous missions such as smuggling an illicit cargo past the Imperial authorities or collecting a bounty on a fellow ne’er-do-well. Star Wars: Outer Rim has four factions to work for or fight – the Hutts, Crime Syndicates, Imperials and Rebels. Player will also be able to recruit crew members such as Chewbacca and Hondo Ohnaka; improve and upgrade their ships; or even get their mitts of legendary vessels like the Millennium Falcon herself.
