The Last Kingdom’s Mark Rowley and Arnas Fedaravicius will be meeting fans at MCM Birmingham when the pop culture weekender returns to the NEC next month. Mark Rowley (Young Dracula, Luther) plays Finan in the action-packed Dark Age drama, while Arnas Fedaravicius appears as Sihtric. Recently renewed for a fourth season by Netflix, The Last Kingdom is based on Sharpe creator Bernard Cornwell’s novel series The Saxon Stories.
A fierce Irish warrior with a sharp wit and even sharper sword, Mark Rowley’s character Finan suffered many hardships before finding a home at the court of Uhtred, enduring both exile from his native land and the brutal life of a slave. Meeting in dire circumstances, Finan and Uhtred forge a bond that will keep them fighting at each other’s side for a lifetime, with Uhtred relying on the brave Irishman for his counsel, battle strategy and friendship.
Lithuanian actor Arnas Fedaravicius plays the striking-looking Sihtric in the Netflix series. The illegitimate son of feared Danish warlord Kjartan the Cruel, Sihtric defects by swearing an oath to Uhtred and is now counted among his most faithful retainers. So – spoiler alert! – it comes as a shock when the Norseman switches sides once more, abandoning the seemingly-cursed Uhtred. Fortunately for Sihtric fans, it’s all part of a cunning scheme…
MCM Birmingham Comic Con comes to the NEC on 23-24 March 2019. Tickets to the show are available here.
