It was revealed back in April 2018 that Sega was jumping on the mini console bandwagon as they announced that they were working on a Mega Drive Mini. Now it appears that Sega is asking for some help when it comes to which games should be included.
As reported on Gematsu, Sega of Japan posted on Twitter three polls, asking which games should be included out of:
Sonic the Hedgehog or Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Puyo Puyo or Puyo Puyo Tsu.
Shining Force: The Legacy of Great Intention or Shining Force II.
Being a Twitter poll, anyone from any country can cast their vote. You can also vote by visiting the official Japanese site for the Mega Drive Mini.
No reason was given as to why all six titles would not be included (because surely the technology is there to do that). Responding to a user asking that both be included, Sega responded in a post that the console is set to include only one of each title. Sega did also reveal on the official site that this will only apply to the Japanese console, suggesting that the US and European models will receive a different line-up of games.
The votes will be combined with the final results announced at Sega Fes 2019 on 30 March 2019, where more details about the Mega Drive Mini will likely be revealed.
Sega plans to release a Genesis Mini for the US and a Mega Drive Mini for Europe later this year.
