The new series of CLAMP’s Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card begins this weekend, and the official site has released what is likely to be the final promo video for the anime, featuring most of the main characters (and a blink and you’ll miss it shot of a Sakura plushie).
Sakura Kinomoto is starting her first year at Tomoeda middle school, as well as being reunited with Syaoran Li, who has returned from Hong Kong. However, after Sakura has a strange dream involving a mysterious hooded figure, she wakes up to discover that all her magical cards are now blank and no longer work. The following night, Sakura has another dream where she is gifted a key from the hooded figure; a key which summons a new sealing wand and allows Sakura to collect new cards.
From animation studio Madhouse, Morio Asaka returns to direct the new 26 episode series. Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card will air in Japan on NHK BS Premium at 7:30am on Sunday 7 January 2018.
