Batman: Gotham City Chronicles Kickstarter hits £1.3m in first day

Board game Batman: Gotham City Chronicles opened up to potential funding on Kickstarter on 27 February 2018 in the US and by the time we awoke in the UK this morning it had already secured almost £1.3m in backing. Given that its goal was £359,651, the Kickstarter exclusive product will now move ahead and go into production.

Backers will still have to be patient, mind – the shipping date for this miniatures board game for 2-4 players is April 2019. However, it will not be available as a retail purchase and the Kickstarter is the only way to get a copy.

Batman: Gotham City Chronicles allows players to fight for Batman’s home town as the heroes, or work alone as the villain. The $140 base game pledge includes one heroes box, one villains box and a rulebook.

Heroes include Batman (obvs), Catwoman, Robin (Tim Drake), Batgirl, Nightwing, Huntress and Commissioner Gordon. Villains include Bane, Killer Croc, Clayface, Joker, Harley Quinn, Riddler, Scarecrow, Mr Freeze and Poison Ivy.

Going all-in for $320 adds the Wayne Mansion and Arkham Asylum expansions, as well as the Batmobile add-on, the rules for 1vs1 play and a pack of 15 dice.
