Anime Limited has acquired the rights to the three Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion films, made by Sunrise for the sci-fi anime’s 10th anniversary. We won’t have long to wait either, with Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion I – Initiation getting a one-night-only screening at selected UK cinemas on Wednesday 21 March.

The feature film trilogy retells the events of the two TV series with new scenes added and a re-recorded voice track. The first instalment Initiation will be screened in Japanese with English-subtitles in Showcase Cinema, Cineworld, Vue and ODEON theatres across the UK and Ireland – further details are available here. However, Anime Limited couldn’t confirm whether the second and third films will also be getting big screen releases.
