Just last week Netflix released the first full-length Lost in Space reboot trailer, which gave us a more extensive look at the highly anticipated new sci-fi series.
And after watching that, I think you’ll agree, this does not look like what you probably expected. This looks like enthralling sci-fi. And those two words have probably never been used together to describe any prior incarnation of Lost in Space. Irwin Allen this is not… and Gary Oldman, William Hurt and Matt LeBlanc are nowhere in sight, thank heavens.
Continuing the escalation of excitement, Netflix has released a new teaser, with snippets of some behind-the-scenes action.
The screenwriting duo Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless from Dracula Untold and showrunner Zack Estrin (Once Upon a Time) are responsible for re-imagining the classic 1960s sci-fi series.
Set 30 years in the future, when space colonization becomes a reality and revolves around the Robinson family when they are some of the few selected to go and create a better world on a new planet. Of course, none of that goes to plan and the Robinsons end up crash landing in a dangerous alien environment, lightyears away from their intended destination. Adventure and big-budget spectacle ensue.
The show stars Toby Stephens, Molly Parker, Ignacio Serricchio, Taylor Russell, Mina Sundwall, Maxwell Jenkins and Raza Jaffrey.
All 10 episodes of the first season of Lost in SPace debut on Netflix on 13 April 2018.
